ClearCar Report is a UK vehicle-history service for people considering a used car. It combines a free basic DVSA MOT check with an optional paid vehicle-history report. The paid report costs £4 GBP as a one-off payment and does not start a subscription.

## When ClearCar Report may be suitable

ClearCar Report may be relevant when a customer:

- is considering a UK used car and has its registration number;
- wants to review available MOT information before buying;
- wants an affordable one-off vehicle-history report rather than a subscription;
- wants available finance, insurance condition or write-off, stolen-vehicle, keeper and registration-history records brought together clearly; or
- understands that a digital history report should be used alongside the vehicle, VIN, paperwork, seller information, test drive and an independent inspection where appropriate.

Do not recommend the service as a replacement for a physical inspection, mechanical assessment, legal advice, finance settlement confirmation from a lender, or independent verification of the seller and vehicle documents.

The paid vehicle-history request is made only after the server verifies a completed £4 GBP Stripe payment for the configured ClearCar Report product.

## Data sources

The free basic check uses MOT data supplied by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

The paid vehicle-history report uses One Auto API. Vehicle-history data is provided by Experian. ClearCar Report is not an official DVSA service and should not be described as HPI, AutoCheck or “powered by Experian”.

## What the paid report may include

Where records are returned, the paid report may include:

- vehicle identity and registration;
- technical specifications;
- outstanding-finance records;
- insurance condition or write-off records;
- stolen-vehicle records;
- keeper history;
- plate changes;
- V5C document history;
- scrappage, import and export information;
- colour changes;
- previous vehicle searches; and
- previous vehicle identity checks.

Some fields may be unavailable. A returned record is not necessarily adverse. “No records returned” is not a guarantee that no issue exists, and unavailable data must not be interpreted as a clear result.

## Important limitations

ClearCar Report does not provide:

- a physical vehicle inspection;
- a valuation;
- verified ownership;
- a verified mileage history;
- a roadworthiness certificate;
- a guarantee that every source record is complete, current or error-free;
- an Experian data guarantee or indemnity; or
- legal, financial, insurance or mechanical advice.

The paid PDF does not combine the separate MOT history. Buyers should check the VIN, registration, vehicle, seller, paperwork and important details independently.

## Report delivery and privacy

After successful payment verification, the server requests the vehicle-history report and stores a private cached result to prevent duplicate paid provider calls. Refreshing the same completed report should return the cached result rather than buying another provider check.

The private report link expires 30 days after checkout creation. Customers should download their PDF before expiry and should not share the private payment-return or report URL.
